Swindon have continued their future team building plans by signing teenage Australian rider Richard Sweetman.

The 17-year-old will fly to Britain in June and will spend the rest of the year on loan at a Premier League club.

"This signing continues our policy of recruiting talented young riders as we keep one eye firmly fixed on the future," said manager Alan Rossiter.

"We envisage Richard playing a big part in our future and are excited about welcoming him to Britain."

"Our hard work over the past few seasons now means we have established ourselves as a desirable club for riders looking to establish their careers."

Sweetman is the current Australian Long Track Champion and was a reserve in the 2008 Australian Championships.
