A 15-point maximum from Jason Doyle helped Somerset Rebels notch up their first Premier League away win of the season at Redcar Bears.
The Rebels are up to second in the Premier League, a point behind Berwick.
Rebels media officer Ian Belcher feels that the overall quality of Somerset's line-up has been key to their success.
"We're particularly strong at reserve. It's being more solid throughout the team rather than having an out-and-out number one," he told BBC Somerset.
He added: "It's the way the team been constructed this year, so everyone would score solidly rather than having one out-and-out top rider.
"Jason Doyle went through the meeting unbeaten by an opposition rider, which is fairly unusual for an away team, but he scored a 15-point maximum. But if Jason's not doing it Emil Kramer is picking up the points."
The Rebels can go top of the Premier League on Friday with a home victory over Rye House Rockets, but Belcher said he thought it would not be easy.
"They won the league last year and one thing with Rye House is you know they're never going to put a poor team out, so it's going to be cracking match.
"Perhaps it'll be a bigger test of where we stand in the grand scheme of things."
