Tobi Kroner is confident of Knockout Cup success |
The Ipswich Witches begin another cup campaign on Thursday when they host the Wolverhampton Wolves in the first round of the Elite League Knockout Cup. Following mixed success in the Craven Shield they face Wolves home and away in the space of four days. Witches rider Tobi Kroner said: "Of course we can win at Foxhall and if everything goes right at Wolverhampton we can also win there." The return leg will take place at Monmore Green on Monday. Kroner added: "It is going to be a matter of us all beating our direct opposites in the Wolves team. "In Jarek Hampel we have one of the best riders in this country and the rest of us are all fairly level with some having a bit more experience. "After two good away performances and last week's big victory we are feeling very confident and we can build up and get even better, I think something is starting here." Wolverhampton will be without their number four Kenneth Hansen who crashed heavily on Monday and are expected to use the rider replacement facility. Also on Thursday Peterborough and Lakeside ride the last Craven Shield group match at Alwarton. The Witches will qualify for the final stages of the competition if Peterborough win.
