Stoke Potters have lost their first meeting of the season, going down 51-42 at Newcastle on Sunday. Ben Barker scored 10 points for the Potters, who had Saturday's home meeting - also against Newcastle - called off because of rain.
Team manager John Adams said: "Five of our riders had race wins and we always seemed to be in contention without quite reeling them in.
"Still, I'm pleased and we can definitely build on this."
