Lakeside Hammers defeated Elite League rivals Poole Pirates 53-40 in a challenge match at the Arena Essex Raceway on Friday night. Andreas Jonsson top scored for the Essex outfit with 14 points, while captain Adam Shields weighed in with 11 plus two bonus points.
Poole had beaten Lakeside 53-37 at Wimborne Road, so win the meeting by a mere three points on aggregate.
Lakeside's pre-season continues with a trip to Peterborough on Thursday night.
