The Isle of Wight Islanders speedway team could have the fastest track in the country thanks to an unusual gift from a wealthy supporter. The Premier League outfit were gifted a 40-foot motorway blade which they have used to smooth the circuit.
Team manager Dave Pavitt said: "I'm sure it's going to be the smoothest and perhaps the fastest track in the land.
"It's something we've been after but never been able to afford for 10 years," he told BBC Radio Solent.
