Somerset Rebels rider Ritchie Hawkins could miss the rest of the season after sustaining multiple injuries in a crash at an indoor meeting in Germany. The 24-year-old Blandford-based rider has broken his right thigh, his right ankle, his right arm and his wrist.
Hawkins is in hospital in Germany where he has had his thigh bone pinned.
Rebels skipper Simon Walker said: "Ritchie is in remarkably good spirits, but it's too early to say when he might be transferred to England."
