The trio were part of the Rebels stable last term and for Hawkins, 24, it will be his third year in four with Somerset after a spell with Workington in 2006.

Hawkins said: "I had no hesitation in agreeing to ride for Somerset again.

"I was a bit disappointed with my form at times last season, but everything is looking really positive for 2008."

Somerset boss Mike Golding said: "Ritchie has plenty of potential still to realise and a second season at the Oak Tree Arena could be just what he needs in order to bring out the best in him.

"I see a seven-point rider in Ritchie and I expect him to be pushing this figure as the season progresses."
