Coventry promoter Colin Pratt has paid tribute to Bees star Chris Harris, after his spectacular triumph at last weekend's British Grand Prix. Pratt said: "For Chris to win was probably one of the best results for British speedway in a number of years.
"It should give the whole sport in this country a big boost.
"The way he did it was incredible, and I don't think any rider will have won a Grand Prix before by overtaking everyone else in the final."
Pratt added: "It didn't matter who anyone supported at that meeting, they were all on their feet and applauding at the end."
Harris was crowned British Grand Prix champion in front of a record crowd of 41,247 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

The Cornishman edged out Reading's Greg Hancock on the run-in to the chequered flag to finish with 20 points.
Poole's reigning world champion Jason Crump was third and Swindon's Leigh Adams fourth. Nicki Pedersen of Eastbourne retains the series lead.
"This was more than I dared dream about - it hasn't sunk in yet," said Harris.
"When I was on top of the rostrum I didn't know whether to laugh, smile or cry, it's just an awesome feeling.
"Everyone wants to win at Cardiff and I'm lucky enough to be the one to have done it. It's such a long time since there's been a British winner and it's great to end that record.
"I knew that if I could make a good first couple of corners I'd hopefully be able to get into a good position, and also if anyone else made a mistake I'd be there, and it happened.
"Now we're hoping to keep things rolling for the rest of the season!"
Great Britain captain and Coventry team-mate Scott Nicholls moved up into the top ten overall by reaching the semi-finals, whilst Wild Card entry - Wolverhampton's David Howe - collected four points from his big night.
