Bridgestone has been MotoGP's sole brand since 2009 |
Bridgestone has extended its deal to supply tyres to MotoGP's teams until the end of the 2014 season. The Japanese firm has been the sport's sole tyre brand since 2009. The three-year contract extension means Bridgestone will be part of MotoGP's new era next year when it moves from 800cc to 1,000cc engine capacity. "Bridgestone's commitment at this point is important in allowing us to plan for the future," said Carmelo Ezpeleta, chief executive of race promoter Dorna. Bridgestone handed over to Pirelli as Formula 1's sole supplier at the end of last year. This season's first round takes place in Qatar this weekend.
