Stoner won the inaugural Aragon MotoGP in 2010 |
The Aragon MotorLand MotoGP will be on the calendar for the next six years after race organisers Dorna signed a long-term deal with the Spanish venue. MotorLand was introduced as a reserve circuit and it ended up hosting round 13 of the championship after the Hungarian Grand Prix was called off. That race was won by Ducati's Casey Stoner, who now rides for Repsol Honda. This season Spain will stage four of the 18 rounds of the championship, including the finale at Valencia. Reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo begins the defence of his title in Qatar on 20 March.
