Glasgow Tigers recorded a 95-92 aggregate win over Edinburgh Monarchs to secure the Spring Trophy. Trailing by 16 points following Friday night's first leg in West Lothian, the Tigers came roaring back on Sunday. James Grieves and Shane Parker were top scorers for the home team, earning 14 and 12 points respectively. The Tigers' success at Ashfield marked the end of nine successive losses to the Monarchs, who conceded four 5-1 defeats in the final six heats. "We needed that; management, fans and riders alike," said Glasgow team boss Stewart Dickson. "We came very close to beating them a couple of times last season, so to eventually end our bad run against them is such a relief. "Maybe Edinburgh won't underestimate us as quickly the next time, but I'd prefer to focus on our own club. "We need to use this win as a huge confidence boost going into our Premier Trophy meetings." Ryan Fisher was the Monarchs' best performer with 12 points, while Matthew Wethers added 11 points for the out-of-sorts visitors.
