Ryan Farquhar rode for MSS Kawasaki in 2005 |
Ryan Farquhar has clinched a deal to ride a new MSS Kawasaki Supersport 600 machine in 2009 but the team are unable to provide him with a Superbike. "I think the 600 bike will be very competitive but unfortunately MSS could not come up with the money for a Superbike," said the Dungannon rider. "They did not want to promise me a big bike unless they could commit to it 100 per cent and I support that decision. "I will look out for a Superbike and if not, I can ride my Superstock bike." "If I manage to get a Superbike, it will be for the three big international road races, the North West 200, the Isle of Man TT and the Ulster Grand Prix." Farquhar had received an offer to ride a Yamaha for another English sponsor but opted to continue his recent association with Kawasaki. "I will definitely be riding a ZX-10 Kawasaki Superstock in the national road races. I am keeping Kenny Harker's bike and I have built a new one myself." Farquhar previously rode for Nick Morgan's MSS team in 2005, when he won one of the TT Supersport races. He began last season with the McAdoo Racing team, but split with them after the North West 200, and then ran his own bikes until striking a deal to ride for the JMF Millsport Yamaha team at the Ulster Grand Prix. He enjoyed a successful season on the Irish national road racing scene.
