Ryan Farquhar has enjoyed success with the McAdoo team |
Ryan Farquhar has parted company with the McAdoo Kawasaki Racing team after a disagreement over financial arrangements between team and rider. The team announced in a statement on Monday afternoon that they were withdrawing their support and would not provide bikes for the Isle of Man TT. Farquhar told the BBC that he would compete at the TT on Kenny Harker's Supersport and Superstock machines. "I'll just ride the two bikes unless I get a competitive Superbike," he said. The McAdoo statement said: "Saturday's North West 200 proved that our machines are capable of running with any bikes in road racing and we would loved to have competed at the 2008 TT but a line has to be drawn at some point. "Any announcements on our future in the sport will be made in due course." It is believed that the disagreement centres on the allocation of start money between the Cookstown-based outfit and the Dungannon rider. Farquhar said that due to the uncertain nature of winning prize money at major events he needed "some sort of guarantee" to make his living. The team enjoyed a successful relationship for many years before going their separate ways a few years ago. They were reunited at the end of last season and the start of this campaign and Farquhar rode the McAdoo bikes at the North West 200 last weekend.
