John Burrows faces a race to be fit for the Cookstown 100 road races on Saturday 26 April after suffering a finger injury at Croft on Sunday.

Burrows underwent surgery and will now see a specialist to assess the injury.

Among the leading entries for the event are Keith Amor, a winner last year, Rob Frost, Ryan Farquhar, Martin Finnegan, Adrian Archibald and Gary Johnson.

Robert Dunlop and sons William and Michael will also compete, with 15 races scheduled to be run on the day.

More than 40 newcomers have submitted entries and roads will close for practicing at 2.30pm on Friday, earlier than usual, to accommodate the large field of riders.

Roads will close at 10.00am on Saturday morning, with the first race scheduled to start half an hour later.

Amor will ride for the Wilson Craig outfit, Frost will be in CD Racing colours and Finnegan competes for the JMF Millsport Yamaha team.

Farquhar will have his first outing of the season for McAdoo Kawaski Racing, Archibald campaigns AMA Suzukis and Johnson is now the standard bearer for the Uel Duncan Honda/Robinson Concrete team.

Robert Dunlop will ride in the 250cc event, his first appearance in that class for 13 years.

The Dunlop trio, head an impressive two-stroke entry, along with Darren Burns, Barry Davidson, Ian Morrell, Burrows, Davy Morgan, Ivan Lintin, Mark Curtin and Andrew Courtney.
