Jackson secured the 2005 national title at Brands Hatch |
Lincoln racer Lee Jackson says he is confident of being a frontrunner in the National Superstock Championships, which start at Brands Hatch on Sunday. The Vanfit Yamaha rider, 31, won the series in 2005 and believes he can again be a title contender. Jackson, who finished sixth last year, told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I'm out to win it and do the best we can. "We've done a lot of winter testing and been right on the pace, so I'm looking forward to racing." Jackson believes the series - which features largely unmodified 1,000cc motorcycles - will again provide close action throughout the season. He said: "It was so competitive last year, you couldn't afford to be even a 10th of a second off the pace or you'd be quite a way down the grid - at most rounds the top 20 were covered by less than a second. "I think superstock is going to be as strong as ever."
