Speedway fans will get their last chance to see Martin Smolinski in the UK this year, when he makes his Telford Ice Speedway debut. Smolinski, who won the Elite League title twice in three seasons with Coventry, has returned to Germany after being released by Bees for 2008.
"To be dropped just before the start of the new season is disappointing."
William Lawson, who was Wolverhampton's most entertaining rider last year, has also confirmed his place at Telford.
Co-promoter Graham Drury added: "Smolinksi's a showman and we're delighted to have him on board. He fits the bill perfectly for Telford."
Lawson is sure to attract plenty of support from Wolverhampton where he had a good spell last season.
"He's got a great style and I know the Wolves fans liked him," Drury added.
Shropshire riders Wayne Broadhurst and Jack Hargreaves fly the local flag for the long-running event at the Telford Ice Rink on February 24.
