The Mid Antrim 150 road races are set to go ahead on Saturday with permission from a family whose son-in-law died in a tragic accident while on honeymoon. The family's home is located on the circuit in Clough and organisers had offered to cancel the event to ensure privacy for the mourning relatives.
"The needs of the family are our first consideration but they have told us to run the meeting," said a spokesman.
"We will alter our schedule in whatever way to accommodate their requirements."
Practising for the event is scheduled to take place on Friday night with racing on Saturday.
"This is a very sad and sensitive time for everyone in the village and it may mean interruptions and delays during Friday or Saturday but whatever the wishes ane needs of the family are we will respect that.
"We have been in close consultation with them over the past few days and that will continue to be the case," added clerk-of-the-course Norman Gordon.
