Laverty impresses at Kirkistown

Michael Laverty produced two lap records in the first 600 race

Michael Laverty showed impressive form at the opening short circuit meeting of the season at Kirkistown on Saturday.

The Relentless Suzuki rider beat team-mate Ian Lowry to win the feature race with Cameron Donald in third.

Laverty broke the lap record on two occasions when winning the opening 600 race ahead of Donald and Keith Amor.

Lowry pipped Ryan Rainey in an exciting Superbike race, Donald won the second 600 event ahead of Amor while Mark Lunney won both 125 races.
