Hayden won the 2006 title by just five points |
The MotoGP season will be one race longer next year than in 2007 following the addition of a San Marino race. Honda's Nicky Hayden will defend his world title over 18 races, starting in Qatar on 10 March.
The new Italian event, which mirrors a similar idea in Formula One, will be held on 2 September at Misano, close to Rimini on the country's Adriatic Coast.
The British round is at Donington on 24 June with the season finale in Valencia in Spain on 4 November.
