Cooler conditions could be more comfortable for races, and night races might also be more broadcast-friendly for the European television audience.

"We'll ride street bikes to see if it's feasible to race in the dark," said Ducati rider Capirossi.

"They've put up floodlights at several corners, so it will be interesting."

Several car races in the United States are already held under floodlights but the idea would be new to top-class bike racing.
