Tamada was twice a winner in MotoGP last season |
Konica Minolta Honda rider Makoto Tamada will not take part in Sunday's French MotoGP as he is still in pain after a wrist operation. The Japanese rider missed the last two races after fracturing a bone in his right wrist in a fall during qualifying for last month's Portuguese Grand Prix.
He had successful surgery and was due to return at Le Mans but felt pain in Friday's opening free practice session.
Tamada's place will again be taken by Jurgen van den Goorbergh.
The Dutchman replaced Tamada at the inaugural Chinese GP and finished sixth.
