Ellison handed Yamaha test chance
James Ellison
Ellison's bike underperformed in 2005
James Ellison has been handed a chance to stay in MotoGP next year after being given a test by the Tech 3 Yamaha team.

The Englishman struggled with a Blata WCM machine in his debut season but now has a week to impress the team, which came seventh overall this year.

"He will have the bikes Toni Elias used this year, and will ride on Dunlop tyres," said team boss Herve Poncharal.

"It doesn't confirm our 2006 plans. Nothing's signed with the rider, nor with Dunlop."
