Max Biaggi has admitted he has a point to prove in this weekend's Portuguese MotoGP race after his display in last weekend's opening race in Jerez. The Repsol Honda rider, who finished third in last year's championship, had a poor debut, coming home in seventh.
"Jerez did not match my expectations, or those of my team," the Italian said.
"In Estoril we must solve this. Even though the first race was difficult it didn't discourage us. I never wanted to be part of the game as much as now."
Jerez was not a good weekend all round for the Repsol team, with Biaggi's team-mate Nicky Hayden crashing out from a promising position.
The American, too, said he was keen to make amends for his performance in Spain.
"It's hard to look at positives so soon after such a knock but the team is really strong and we are super-determined," he said.
"I'll be fine when I get on the bike on Friday for the first free practice.
"But I missed the race last year as I broke my shoulder, so I haven't got a huge amount of experience round the track."
