Jeremy McWilliams suffered mechanical problems at Brno |
Jeremy McWilliams is set to miss out on a ride at this weekend's Valencia MotoGP, with Kurtis Roberts likely to ride the Proton V5 for Team Roberts. McWilliams failed to finish when he rode the machine at the Czech round at Brno in August, but was hopeful of racing again in Spain.
Roberts, son of team boss Kenny, has been testing the bike in recent weeks.
The cash-strapped team was forced to pull out of the last five MotoGP races following the withdrawal of KTM.
The Oxfordshire-based outfit lost the backing of the Austrian motorcycle builder before the Brno race and also lost the services of rider Shane Byrne.
Roberts' team was unable to finance the trips to Japan, Malaysia, Qatar, Australia and Turkey.
McWilliams has endured a disappointing season, which was ruined by a persistent shoulder injury.
"I have been in talks with a few teams regarding next season, but nothing concrete has been arranged yet," the Glengormley rider told the BBC.
