Airwaves Ducati rider James Haydon will miss Monday's opening round of the British Superbikes Championship after failing to recover from a hand injury. He smashed his knuckle and broke his thumb and finger in a crash in testing last week and his place in the line-up will go to Gregorio Lavilla.
"I'm very disappointed but I'm pleased to have secured such an experienced rider," said team manager Colin Wright.
"This is about James missing round one in order to compete in the other 12."
Lavilla has experience at both MotoGP and World Superbikes level.
The Italian also rode for Rizla Suzuki in last year's British Superbikes in place of the injured Yukio Kagayama.
