Archibald ready for Yamaha switch
Adrian Archibald has left the TAS Suzuki team
Adrian Archibald is set to ride a Yamaha next season
Adrian Archibald is set to ride a Yamaha in 2006 after parting company with the locally based TAS Suzuki team.

The Ballymoney rider told the BBC that he felt he "needed a change" after three years with the team, owned by Hector Neill and managed by son Philip.

Archibald is currently on holiday but will confirm a deal within the next few weeks. The AIM Yamaha team is his most likely destination for next season.

The 35-year-old is expected to continue to concentrate on the main road races.

Archibald won both the blue riband classes at the 2003 TT for the TAS Suzuki outfit but has enjoyed mixed fortunes since then.

In 2004, he retained his Senior TT crown in an otherwise barren season, and this year led the TT Superstock race before running out of petrol just a few miles from the finish.

AIM is owned by Scottish businessman Alastair Flanagan and John McGuinness won both the TT Superbike and Senior TTs aboard his machinery in June.

Meanwhile Ryan Farquhar is considering a number of offers for next season, with TAS Suzuki believed to be one of his options.
