 Capirossi put his Ducati on pole in Malaysia |
Italian Loris Capirossi will be on pole for Sunday's Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang, with reigning champion Valentino Rossi only seventh. Capirossi guided his Ducati round the 3.3-mile circuit near Kuala Lumpur in two minutes 1.731 seconds in qualifying on Saturday to edge out Sete Gibernau.
Rossi, who needs to finish fourth or better to wrap up a fifth consecutive MotoGP title, went round in 2:02.412.
Rossi has won three times in the last four years at Sepang.
