Capirossi claims pole in Malaysia

Capirossi put his Ducati on pole in Malaysia
Italian Loris Capirossi will be on pole for Sunday's Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang, with reigning champion Valentino Rossi only seventh.

Capirossi guided his Ducati round the 3.3-mile circuit near Kuala Lumpur in two minutes 1.731 seconds in qualifying on Saturday to edge out Sete Gibernau.

Rossi, who needs to finish fourth or better to wrap up a fifth consecutive MotoGP title, went round in 2:02.412.

Rossi has won three times in the last four years at Sepang.
