Corser expects to win world title
Australia's Troy Corser
Corser has not won the Superbikes title since 1996
Troy Corser has set his sights on a second World Superbikes title after his move to Team Alstare Suzuki.

Corser, who moved from Foggy Petronas Racing in October, said he was confident the team's new GSX-R1000 bike could support his title ambitions.

"It's an all-new bike, but I don't look at 2005 as a learning year - I'm looking to take the title," he said.

"I know I have the ability to win and I expect to be holding the trophy at the end of the year."

The Australian last won the title in 1996 and could not mount a sustained challenge in his time with Carl Fogarty's team.

"I am really looking forward to my new challenge with Team Alstare in 2005," he said.

"For many years I have been impressed with their skilful set-up and structure, their professionalism - and now I am working with them.

"I cannot wait to get my leg over the 2005 GSX-R1000 Suzuki. It is a fabulous-looking machine and, as it is bound to be an improvement over the previous model, I am sure I will be able to do the business with it."
