Monstermob sign deal with Honda
The late Steve Hislop
Hislop rode a Ducati to win the 2002 championship
Monstermob have signed up with Honda for next year's British Superbikes season, ending a four-year association with Ducati.

The late Steve Hislop won the 2002 title for Monstermob on a Ducati, and team chief Paul Bird said ending the relationship had been a hard decision.

"It left a lump in my throat when I thought of what we've accomplished," he told Motor Cycle News.

"But we need a new challenge for 2005, when we aim to run three bikes in BSB."

At the moment, the team line-up consists of Michael Laverty and former Yamaha rider Gary Mason, with a third rider yet to be confirmed.

"We are speaking with a number of riders about the vacant position and we have had lots of interest," said Bird.

"Hopefully, we can conclude this deal in the next few weeks and we can look forward to getting back to our winning ways next season."

The Monstermob Ducatis will have their final run-out at the Macau Grand Prix on 20 November.
