World champion Valentino Rossi has revealed he plans to stay in MotoGP for at least two more years. Speculation about the Italian's future had been rife following his fourth straight title this month. He has one more year on his deal with Yamaha.
But he told BBC Grandstand at the last race of the season in Valencia: "For sure next year I stay with Yamaha, and I want another year in motorbikes.
"I don't know about my future, but after two more years I will decide."
Rossi has previously spoken of an interest in trying his hand at Formula One, and tested a Ferrari Grand Prix car last April.
He has also competed on the Rally of Great Britain.
The 25-year-old has given Yamaha their first world crown since 1992 and become only the second rider to win consecutive titles with different manufacturers.
He was not predicted to challenge for the title this season after his switch from Honda, but has confounded those expectations with nine wins in total.
Carlos Checa, Rossi's Yamaha team-mate, has signed for the 2005 season with Ducati. He replaces Australian Troy Bayliss, with his place in Yamaha being taken by American Colin Edwards, the two-time World Superbike champion.
