Toseland led the championship earlier in the season |
Britain's James Toseland took the lead in the World Superbike Championship after two podium finishes in the fifth round at Oschersleben in Germany. Toseland is two points ahead of Ducati Fila team-mate Regis Laconi.
Laconi finished sixth in the first race after a drive-through penalty but took victory second time out ahead of Toseland.
Toseland was also runner-up in the first race, behind Japan's Nori Haga on his Renegade Ducati.
Haga dominated the first race from the start but the drama unfolded behind as previous championship leader Laconi saw his chances of a win hit by a ride-through penalty.
Laconi dropped out of the top 15 before a dramatic ride through the pack back into the top 10.
But Laconi had the better of things in race two to close the gap on Toseland in the championship race.
Laconi had a large advantage over his team-mate at the chequered flag as Leon Haslam completed the podium.
