World Superbikes champion James Toseland must step up his search for a contract for the 2005 season. Despite becoming the series' youngest winner at 23, Toseland has yet to extend his deal with team Ducati Fila.
And rather than take time to celebrate his win, the Briton faces the prospect of testing tyres at the end of October.
He has to convince the team to offer him a new deal for next season if he is to retain his place among the top works-backed outfit in the field.
Meanwhile, rival team boss Carl Fogarty hailed the season a success after Foggy Petronas Racing won pole positions and podiums in just their second season.
"This was just our second year of development and we have made big steps forward," he said.
"There have been a few highs, with our two podiums and two pole positions, and also a lot of top-six finishes.
"So the aim for next year is to be running in the top five or six and to be challenging for podiums in every race."
