McWilliams is racing at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday |
Jeremy McWilliams remains confident about his Aprilia team's future despite reported financial problems with the Italian outfit's parent company. Aprilia are said to have debts of almost 150m and their manufacturing operation has stopped because suppliers are refusing to deliver parts.
However, the Northern Ireland man's manager Drew Wylie said he had received assurances in recent days.
"The team are confident that they will be kept afloat," said Wylie.
"I have been reassured by the powers that be that they are confident of finding a financial package.
"In any case, the race team is a totally separate entity - a different company with its own funding."
McWilliams finished out of the points in 16th place in the opening MotoGP race of the season in South Africa earlier this month.
The Northern Ireland rider competes in the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.
