Adrian Archibald won the Joey Dunlop Trophy on Isle of Man |
Ulsterman Adrian Archibald roared to a double in the Isle of Man when he won the much-delayed Senior TT on Saturday.
Archibald, who had lifted the honours in the Formula One event seven days ago, came home 20 seconds ahead of John McGuinness with Ian Lougher third.
The final race of the week-long action was put back from Friday and further delayed on Saturday morning.
However, the Ballymoney rider was soon into top gear right from the start and led from the first of the four laps after the race officials cut the race by a third.
It was an emotional and productive week for Archibald who recorded the fastest lap on Saturday in clocking 126.78 mph.
His decision to race on after the death of his TAS Suzuki team-mate David Jefferies was fully vindicated in winning his first TT race last Satruday.
Archibald won 20,000 for winning the Senior TT, 20,000 for his first victory, and then collected the Joey Dunlop Trophy and 10,000 for overall winner.
