Harris grabs TT double
Dungannon rider Ryan Farquhar
Ryan Farquhar gets a third podium place in the Isle of Man

Kiwi Shaun Harris completed a double success at the Isle of Man after winning a restricted 600cc Production class on Friday.

Harris came in ahead of Ian Lougher and Ryan Farquhar in a race which was cut short after mist rolled down from the mountains.

Fog disrupted the days racing from the go as the 600cc event was delayed until the 37-mile track was clear.

Harrris, who won the 1000cc Production event earlier in the week, took the race by the scruff of the neck from the off.

He was well ahead of his rivals when the scheduled three-lap race was cut short and the New Zealander won by over 16 seconds from Lougher.

Lougher kept his nose in front of Farquhar who just pipped fellow Ulsterman Adrian Archibald to claim his third trip to the podium.

A delighted Harris praised the organisers for their prompt decision in stopping the race after the second lap.

''I have to hold my hand out to the marshalls and officials who made the correct call. The organisation this year has been awesome,'' said Harris.

''The starting lap was fine, but the mist began to roll in about the 31st mile, and it's full credit to the officials for their prompt action.''

Farquhar for his part was equally delighted to be on the podium again.

''I'm happy enough with third place, but I felt very flat in the opening lap,'' said Farquhar.

''But I started to warm up when the mist came down. It was the right decision at the right time by the officials.

''There was no doubt that the fog was getting worse, and in one place visibility was down to 10 bike lengths.''
