| Hislop vows to return ![]() Hislop: "I'll be unbelievable next season." Steve Hislop is determined to return to British Superbikes following his sacking by Ducati. The Scot wrapped up the 2002 title at Donington Park - but was shown the exit door by the MonsterMob Ducati team just two weeks later. But the 40-year-old rider has vowed to return to the series to defend his title next season. "If you think I've been strong over the past two years, just watch me next season. I'll be unbelievable." Hislop was dumped after Ducati said they wanted young blood. He'd been with the team for two years. Hislop believes that other teams will value his experience and sign him up for the 2003 season. "I'm not the sort of person to get complacent, but the shock decision to dump me has set me my biggest challenge ever." The Virgin Yamaha and Rizla Suzuki teams appear favourites to sign the Isle of Man-based rider. But Hislop's knowledge would be of huge benefit to a new outfit and if Castrol join the series they too could be in the hunt for his signature. | Top Motorbikes stories now: Links to more Motorbikes stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
