![]() | Steve Parrish ![]() Steve's BBC career began in 1985 Steve Parrish has been part of the World Superbikes commentary team since the BBC gained the series in 2000 and will be a full-time expert in 2002. He also provides analysis on the British Superbike Championship. Steve's career with the BBC started in 1985 when he began commentating on motorcycles for BBC radio before moving to TV in 1990 where he worked on our coverage of the GPs. Steve became a professional rider in 1976, joining Barry Sheen in the Suzuki Grand Prix team in 1977 and finishing fifth in the 500cc World Championship. In 1978, he won the British GP Championship before claiming the British Superbike Championship in 1981. He retired from two-wheel riding in 1986 and managed the UK Yamaha Superbike Team taking three British titles. He has spent the last 13 years truck racing and has five European titles. He has now finally hung up his crash helmet to concentrate on his commentary role.
