"The team split with designer Nick Wirth last season and hired ex-Renault engineering director Pat Symonds as a consultant.

"That was an encouraging move, however, they failed to get their 2012 car ready in time for the pre-season tests and now face an uphill struggle.

"Timo Glock brings stability to the team with rookie Charles Pic facing a difficult task of competing in his first season with very little F1 mileage under his belt."
