A profile of the Ferrari Formula 1 team

Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali and the team's facility in Maranello
Ferrari came third in the 2011 season and will expect more from their drivers in 2012

EDDIE JORDAN'S 2012 VIEW

"Ferrari have to deliver this year as 2011 was simply a year to forget.

"Over the winter, the team said they would deliver their drivers - Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa - with a car capable of challenging for the title for this season.

"But based on their form in testing, that doesn't look like it will be the case.

"Fernando should be in the fight for the title but I don't think he will be this season because the car isn't up to standard.

"Felipe is still a shadow of his former self and must up his game if he is to stay with the team beyond this season.

"There's a lot of pressure on technical director Pat Fry, who was at McLaren but joined the Italian team last year, to turn their fortunes around quickly."

Why do Ferrari race?

Because, as I said, racing is part of our DNA, since the beginning of our history. Racing is mainly our promotional tool - we do not do any kind of advertising - and our living R&D department for our road cars.
