BBC COMMENTATOR MARTIN BRUNDLE'S 2010 REVIEW

"It is has generally been a tough season for Michael Schumacher, but I don't subscribe to the view that he should not have come back to Formula 1. I admired his determination and bravery in that decision at the time - and still do.

"The seven-time world champion looked out of his depth in Canada and I have never seen him make so many mistakes as he did in Singapore - but you are only as good as your last race in this game and luckily that cuts both ways.

"In the final phase of the season, Abu Dhabi first-lap crash aside, Schumacher has driven well and was virtually the match of his younger team-mate Nico Rosberg. But the cold hard facts are that he scored only half the points of Rosberg.

"Schumacher is still rusty on his race craft and understanding the car, but he is strong enough and fit enough.

"A new Mercedes car and adapting to Pirelli tyres should give him the reset he needs for 2011. If not, he'll surely be gone."

SCHUMACHER TAKES OUR DRIVERS' TEST

Name three attributes a Formula 1 driver must have

Talent, passion and team spirit.

What is the hardest thing about being a Formula 1 driver?

The attention.

Formula 1 is not just about the car because…

... in order to get it right, you have to master the complexity of this sport.

If I was in charge of Formula 1 I would…

... it's a good job that I am not!

If I could drive in any era of Formula 1 it would be…

... the exact era I drive in.

How would you like to be remembered as an F1 driver?

As a racer.

Spa.

If you weren't an F1 driver what would you be?

I have been around too long to even think about it.

Who is your best friend among the drivers?

Felipe Massa.

Do you excel at any other sports?

Not really. I would describe it differently.

What car(s) other than an F1 car do you drive?

Every car I can get my hands on.

Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?

Where my family is.

What would be your perfect day off?

Spending it with my family.

Tell us something about yourself that most F1 fans might not know?

If they don't know, there is a good reason why...
