US F1 will be the first American F1 team since Penske in the 1970s

The new US F1 team is the product of the ambition of veteran F1 journalist and former Williams and Ferrari team manager Peter Windsor and ex-Ligier technical director Ken Anderson.

They have set it up as the first American F1 team since US racing magnate Roger Penske ran a team in the 1970s, and it will be based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The team have released little information about their plans, but the video-sharing site youtube is expected to be a sponsor.

The Argentine former GP2 driver driver Jose Maria Lopez has been linked to one of the seats.
