BBC COMMENTATOR MARTIN BRUNDLE'S 2009 REVIEW

"I was impressed with Mark Webber in 2009. I wondered if his team-mate Sebastian Vettel might bury him but Webber fought his side of the Red Bull garage well.

"He scored two great victories, particularly at the Nurburgring where he absolutely trounced the field - including Vettel on his home turf - despite having to serve a drive-through penalty.

"He started the year with a broken leg and looking pasty as hell when I interviewed him for the BBC in January.

"He would have shaken anybody's hand off there and then for a guaranteed eight podiums and two victories.

"And I was very impressed how he held off Jenson Button off on the final lap of the final race of the season. It has been a great year for him.

"The Australian's credibility and confidence is way higher now than it was at the beginning of 2009."

Who is the greatest sportsman of all time?
You have to look at what [Muhammad] Ali did. He was an unbelievable sportsman and an unbelievably powerful person, more outside the ring than in it.
