Nelson Piquet Jr has so far in his debut season in Formula One given little indication that he can live up to the name of his famous father.

The Brazilian has been outclassed by team-mate Fernando Alonso.

That is hardly surprising given Alonso's quality, but it compares poorly with Piquet's old GP2 rival Lewis Hamilton's year in 2007.

There have, though, been flashes of promise, but Piquet needs to show many more to keep his seat in F1.
