Singapore's street circuit took a unique place in Formula One history when it made its debut last year. The south-east Asian city state hosted Formula One's first night race under lights - with most insiders' predictions of success being justified. But if Asian races are to be run at night so F1's core European TV audience can watch at a convenient time, why not just hold the races in Europe? The answer, of course, is that the new races pay more than the old ones can.
