Formula 1 gossip and rumours from international media

McLaren team director Martin Whitmarsh believes both his team and Ferrari are capable of catching runaway leader Sebastian Vettel at the top of the standings. He said: "Hopefully we can make this another fantastic championship like we had last year."
The Guardian

But McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton believes Vettel will bounce back from his fourth-placed finish in Germany at the weekend. "Sebastian has been massively consistent but you can't win them all," he said. "He will be back."
The Mirror

Former McLaren driver David Coulthard thinks Vettel's struggles show that the presuure of racing at a home grand prix can be too much for drivers. He said: "The last driver to win his home grand prix was Felipe Massa for Ferrari in Sao Paulo in 2008 so perhaps there is a direct link between PR demands and performance."
The Daily Telegraph

The Williams cars of Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado will be sporting modified bodywork for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix in a bid to help cooling.

Williams technical director Sam Michael has also confirmed that both cars will run the Kers system in Hungary.
