Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has made his predictions for the new season. Sebastian Vettel is his favourite for another world title for Red Bull, who he also believes have the fastest car. Plus, Ecclestone intriguingly said if he were to return as a team boss he would pick Vettel, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Force India reserve Nico Hulkenberg as his drivers.

Fernando Alonso has spoken of his admiration for seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, who is about to embark on a second season with Mercedes at the age of 42. "If there is one person I respect and admire, it is Michael for everything he has done," said the Ferrari driver.

Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi is expecting lots of pit-stops and more exciting races because of the high degradation of the Pirelli tyres. The 24-year-old Japanese racer also says he is unfazed by leading the team , having been joined by rookie Sergio Perez in 2011. "I have to use my experience as best I can," said Kobayashi.
