Williams co-founder Patrick Head has confirmed that he is selling the bulk of his shares as the Formula 1 team prepares to float 27.39% of its stock on the Frankfurt stock exchange next week. Head suggested he was stepping back from a front-line role with the team, saying: "I am pretty sure that I will stand down as director of engineering at some point in the near future. Even after the listing I will be a significant shareholder, around five percent, and I plan to retain that until I do retire."

Nico Hulkenberg says it is "hard to accept not being on the grid any more" after being released by Williams at the end of 2010. The German has a new role as Force India reserve for 2011 but says he is still targeting a permanent seat for 2012.

Mercedes head of motorsport Norbert Haug says the German team will not use the introduction of new tyre supplier Pirelli as an excuse for poor performance in 2011. "You can blame your car, you can blame your set-up, you can blame everything that is built around the tyres but you cannot blame the tyres," Haug said.
