Nico Rosberg is confident Mercedes can improve on a disappointing first season once organisational changes are put in place. The German driver says: "We were not the best team in the way the factory is set-up. But I think we have the best people, starting off with [team boss] Ross [Brawn], so I have a lot of confidence that we'll get there."

After signing a new contract with Renault, Vitaly Petrov lifted the lid on an unexpected perk of being an F1 driver. The Russian revealed: "Recently one of the major lifestyle magazines included me in their top ten most attractive single men of Russia!"

Virgin and Hispania will not take advantage of the return of Kers in 2011 as they will not fit the power boost system to their cars, according to their engine supplier Cosworth.

The Pirelli tyres, which will be used in Formula 1 instead of Bridgestones next season, have improved says Romain Grosjean, who put the tyres through their paces at a test in Bahrain last week.

Former McLaren team boss Ron Dennis reckons his successor Martin Whitmarsh is much better at managing two world champions - Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button - within the same team than he ever was. Dennis says: "Managing the co-habitation of two world champions is often a challenge. I have tried it a few times. Martin is perhaps showing himself to be better than me at that role."
