Fernando Alonso says he is more in love with Ferrari than ever, despite the "bitter end" to his title hopes in Abu Dhabi. "It's pointless to try and work out who got things wrong," he said. "A world championship that slips away by four points after 19 races can be lost on so many occasions, not just at the end."

New world champion Sebastian Vettel said that 2007 title winner Kimi Raikkonen provided inspiration after he clinched the 2010 crown on Sunday despite having never led the table at any point. Three years ago the Finn trailed Lewis Hamilton by 17 points with only 20 up for grabs, but went on to win it by a point.

Renault driver Vitaly Petrov, whom Ferrari's Fernando Alonso got stuck behind at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix causing his title hopes to fade, says he and the Spaniard did not speak after the season's final race on Sunday. "I think he was angry," said the Russian.
